Traditional Chinese Medicine, also known as TCM, includes a wide range of traditional medicine practices originating in China. The basic theory of TCM is to balance the Yin and Yang of the body. Although TCM is well-accepted in the mainstream of medical care throughout Asia, it is considered an alternative medical system in the United States.

TCM practices include such treatments as acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, dietary therapy, and Tuina (Chinese therapeutic massage). Qigong (pronounced as ‘chee-gong’) as well as Taijiquan (pronounced as ‘tie-gee-chuan’), which are forms of kungfu, are also closely related to TCM.

TCM diagnostic method is based on major theories such as Yin Yang; Eight Principles; Qi, Xue, Jin and Ye; Wei, Qi, Ying and Xue; Six Meridians, Six Exogenous Factors; Seven Emotional Factors; Five Elements and Zang Fu Organ Theory etc. TCM believes in observation of nature, the universe, the human body, as well as the relationships between them and it is dated back thousands of years.

TCM works to open the energy flow along the meridians/channels in the body.  TCM believes that “if the energy is blocked (in the channels), there will be pain.  Once the energy is able to flow freely (in the channels), the pain will be gone”. TCM treats a wide variety of disorders such as arthritis, headaches, menopausal disorders, digestive dysfunction, fibromyalgia, pain, acne, etc. Many chronic conditions thought "untreatable" responded well to TCM. Besides relieving symptoms, TCM can help optimize your health.

Initial visit starts with the discussion of health history and current condition, as well as the goals for treatment. TCM tongue and pulse reading will be performed to aid diagnosis, and a treatment plan will then be tailored especially for the individuals. The initial visit includes the first treatment.
