                                                   Quantum Touch

What is Quantum Touch?

Quantum-Touch is a method of natural healing that works with the Life Force Energy of the body to promote optimal wellness. Life Force Energy, also known as “chi” in Chinese and “prana” in Sanskrit, is the flow of energy that sustains all living beings. Quantum-Touch teaches us how to focus, amplify, and direct this energy, for a wide range of benefits with surprising and often extraordinary results or

How is Qantum Touch done?

Quantum Touch is a energy healing technique where hands are placed on various places over the body and energy is directed toward that area.  It is similar to other touch therapies.  QT can be done as a seperate session or it can be combined with a massage.

Who does Quantum Touch?

Currently Cheryl Kumberg RN/MT is practicing QT at the Therapeutic Massage office.  Her clients have been reporting amazing results!  In March she will have completed the necessary steps and practice hours to be a qualified "practitioner" and will be eligible to be listed as such on the QT website.

This sounds weird, does it really work?

There are many forms of energy healing.  Some of the techniques you may be familar with are Reiki (a japanese technique used for relaxation and healing), Therapeutic Touch (used by nurses in hospitals and private practice), Touch for Health etc.  Each technique is different but similar in the fact that they use energy to help you relax and heal yourself.  Energy healing has been around for many, many years and is getting more well known here in Kansas.   Cheryl's clients who receive Quantum Touch are experiencing lasting relief from muscle tightness, back pain and report a deep sense of relaxation after a session.

                               Massage Cupping

Q:  What is Massage Cupping?

A:   Massage cupping is an anchient technique and has found it's place in the modern world of healing.  Massage cupping is a modified version of the common practice of cupping therapy used in tradidional Chinese Medicine.  The results of this simple treatment is impressive.  Using suction and negative pressure massage cupping relases rigid soft tissue, drains excess fluids and toxins, loosens adhesions and lifts connective tissues.  It also brings blood flow to stagnant skin and muscles.

The therapeutic  applications of cupping have been documented through several thousand years of clinical experience.  It has now been adapted for other health care modalities including massage.

Q:   What happens during a cupping session?

A:    You will be asked some brief medical history to make sure cupping is safe for you.  You cannot receive massage cupping if you are currently on blood thinners, or have certian medical conditions.  The therapist will use a flame to briefly heat the inside of the cup (the cup does not get hot) and the cup is placed quickly on the skin to produce a seal.  The vacume is produced and the skin is lifted slightly into the cup.  There are 2 styles of cupping.  One is stationary, and the other uses movement of the cup.  Your therapist will help decide what kind is best for you and may use a combination of both.  You need to know that stationary cupping sometimes results in circular bruising on the back as toxins and blood move to the surface.

Q:   How much does it cost?

A:   The price will vary.  If you just come in for cupping you will be charged for the time.  To cover our costs there is a minimum fee of $15.00.  This will cover a 15 minute session.  30 minutes is $25.00.

Q:   If I bruise how long will they be there?

A:   It varies from person to person.  Some marks are lighter than others.  Some take a week or so to diminish.

                                                       Massage Cupping is helpful with:

Lymphatic Drainage
Loosen Adhesions
Release Deep Tissue
Move Stagnation
Relieve Inflammation
Stimulate Blood Flow
Sedate the Nervous System
Relief of muscle pain caused by Fibromyalgia
